Smokey
Status: In Memory. Rest in Peace, Smokey.
Smokey became neglected when his longtime elderly owners became terminally ill. While most of the neighbors threatened and berated the owners, Good Samaritan Brittany took another approach. She gave them a kind, handwritten card and offered to help them with the horse. It was then that she learned their story and they agreed to turn him over to RVR. Brittany became his foster mom and he is now putting on the weight he needed from being underfed.
Smokey had been without equine companionship for many years and he was nervous of the other horses at the ranch. Over time, he adjusted and now has the equine companionship he needed.
As Smokey completes his rehabilitation, we will be looking for a forever home for this buckskin beauty, where he can live out his remaining days as a trusted companion.
